| ALBERTA YOUTH ENTREPRENEURSHIP CAMP |
|
The Alberta Youth Entrepreneurship Camp runs each year at the end of August, at the Eagles Nest Ranch in Cypress Hills, Alberta. Community Futures offices send sixty kids between the ages of 13 – 15 each year to camp, and East Parkland has four spots available for youth that live within our regional boundaries and have a desire to learn how to be an entrepreneur. The Alberta Youth Entrepreneurship Camp’s goal is to provide youth with business education in a fun and challenging summer camp atmosphere. The sixty campers will be divided into ten business teams consisting of six participants each. During the week campers will take part in a variety of workshops, learning the basics of business start up, business plan development, marketing, advertising, supplies and seeking financial advice from lenders. At the end of their weeklong learning experience, campers will open and operate their business for parents and sponsors of the camp, hopefully earning enough money to pay back their business loans and split the profits! In addition to this valuable business education, there will be plenty of time for fun! Campers will take part in a variety of recreational and breath-taking activities such as zipline, wall climbing, horseback riding, paintball, archery, swimming and relaxing in the hot tub. |
