Will they invent the next Slinky, Frisbee, or Monopoly? Anything can happen at the Kids Invent ToysTM program! This four-day summer camp offers fresh ingenuity as it allows participants the freedom to invent, be inspired, and learn in new ways. Developed at California State University, Kids Invent ToysTM has children grades 3 through 7 make mock-up toys, create new toys, and have a lot of fun while learning about inventing and entrepreneurship. The curriculum allows kids to have the freedom to be creative and work with their hands. They anaylze a toy store, take apart toys, and enhance existing ones. The program also helps to promote business and entrepreneurship awareness in young people. Participants exercise what they have learned through the creation of a marketing plan for their invention. The hardwork of participants is celebrated at the Toy Inventing Fair where the kids have the oppurtunity to show-off their inventions! Community Futures East Parkland has always been a strong advoacte for the benefit of summer youth programming. With the continued success of Kids Invent ToysTM this year in both Bashaw and Lacombe, we are excited to expand the camp to more communities next year. Parents of last year's particpants say Kids Invent ToysTM is the best summer program their children have ever experienced and we couldn't agree more! Community Futures East Parkland promises a wildy creative learning experience and would love to see you next year! Stay posted for 2008 dates. Schedule to be announced.
